And here is one way to find the best one for your needs: In Google Docs, go to  Tools > Research.  In the search menu, select  Quotes  from the dropdown menu. Search for a quote, either by the author or a keyword. My Favorite Teacher Contest

Who Can Participate: Middle and High School Students.  (Check out this site for all the information: http://www.barnesandnoble.com/h/my-favorite-teacher) Here's How It Works: Students write an essay, poem, or thank-you letter (500 words or less, in English on 8.5" x 11" white paper) sharing how a teacher has influenced their life and why they appreciate and admire them. Each entry should be submitted with the entry form and a parent or legal guardian must sign the entry form acknowledging that they have read the Official Contest Rules. Participating schools will collect the essays and provide them to their local Barnes & Noble store representative by March 1, 2017.  ( ENTRY FORM HERE ) If your school is not participating in the contest and you would like your teacher to be considered for the local and regional award as well as the national Barnes & Noble Teacher of the Year Award, please submit your signed entry form in person or by mail to your local store

GoogleSlides Update: You can now insert videos!!!

Though we have loved GoogleSlides, one downside was that it did not allow video insertion into a presentation.  Well, that time has passed. As of today, you can now insert any video from your GoogleDrive  directly into your presentation.   You can even select when the video start and end time, and whether is autoplays when presenting.  Have fun, and start inserting those videos!

Young Scholars Program 2017 applications opens 2/7

The 2017 application will open Tuesday, February 7, 2017.  YOUNG SCHOLARS PROGRAM The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation enables high-ability middle and high school students with financial need to realize their full academic potential. Through the Young Scholars Program, the Foundation has to date supported over 800 students from across the nation, providing them with individualized educational advising combined with comprehensive financial support from the 8th grade through high school. Fantastic Graphic Ability now available through Canva

Want to create really spectacular graphic displays in just moments?   Shockingly, there is a Chrome App (allowed by the BSD) for that.  All you have to do is add it to Chrome ( link here ).  Once it is loaded, click on the Canva icon to load the app.  You can sign in with your Google account (the red button as always), and off you go.  There are loads of free templates that you can alter, download, and share.
