8/31/18 WHS Technology for Parents and Students

Canvas
We have updated the process by which the Canvas observer role is created for parents and guardians.  All active ParentVUE account users now have a Canvas observer role. Moving forward, any parent or guardian who activates their ParentVUE account will automatically have an associated Canvas account created. Instructions for our parents and guardians are at the link below. http://bit.ly/18BSDCANVASPARENT

Chromebooks
At the beginning of each school year, all students in grades 6-12 are automatically enrolled in the District's Chromebook Damage/Loss Protection Program.  The fee for enrolling in this program is $20 per school year per Chromebook.  If your student is bringing their own device, please have them complete the form located here:  http://bit.ly/Chromebook18 so this fee can be returned to them and/or removed from their account.

Sprint 1Milion Project
The Beaverton School District has been awarded 2,000 hotspots from the Sprint 1Million Project (more info and forms can be found at:  http://bit.ly/BSDSprint ).  The devices will provide free wireless service for up to 4 years to eligible high school students in grades 9-12 who do not have adequate internet access at home.  If you do not currently have reliable internet access at home, you may qualify for this program.  Please complete the parent consent form and return it to Ms. Schulz in the library.

Have a technology question or concern, feel free to email Ms. Schulz: christina_schulz@beaverton.k12.or.us
