WHS Library, Chrome, and Canvas Corner
Canvas:  Parent login to Canvas is just around the corner.  If you missed the Back to School Night presentation about Parental Canvas accounts, you can find it here:   http://bit.ly/WHSbacktoschool  Want a sneak peek at what Canvas looks like?  Check out our public All Students Page:  http://bit.ly/WHSCANVAS .  Check back next week to see if Parent Access is up and running.

Digital Citizenship tip of the week:   In the age of the internet, with just a few clicks, almost anything can be downloaded.  But just because we can download something, does that mean we should?  Reminding students of copyright laws, and reminding them of the importance of citing their sources--even on images--will help them to not only become better digital citizens, but succeed in college and beyond.  Click the link for helpful tips on how to discuss plagiarism and copyright with your studenthttp://bit.ly/cscopyright

Sprint 1Milion Project:  Activation DayThe Beaverton School District has been awarded 2,000 hotspots from the Sprint 1Million Project (more info and forms can be found at:  http://bit.ly/BSDSprint ), which will provide free wireless service for up to 4 years to eligible high school students in grades 9-12 who do not have adequate internet access at home.  If you do not currently have reliable internet access at home, you may qualify for this program.

Students have received notification if they have been selected to receive a device.  If selected, their parents need to complete the consent form sent home with them (or located online here:  http://bit.ly/BSDSprint ), and return them to the library as soon as possible to be able to pick up their device.
