Excellent Events in our Area
Author William Ritter will visit the Sunset High Media Center to tell teens about his writing process and how his bestselling mystery series Jackaby came to be.  William Ritter is an Oregon educator and author.  Copies of Jackaby are available for free in September from the Cedar Mill Library for those committed to attending the program on Oct. 11th.  
Student submissions starting October 1. All entries must be received at Beaverton City Library Main or the Murray Scholls branch by 8 p.m. on TUESDAY, OCTOBER 23, 2018

Reads websites and GoogleDocs aloud to students, has a highlighter and other reading and notetaking functions.
If a student knows their Name, Address, and email address, in 30 seconds they can acquire an eAccess Library card.
WCCLS and BSD have a number of eBooks and Audiobooks available for students for free.  Using OverDrive they can even download eBooks to read offline.
Are your students researching?  GoogleKeep is a GoogleSuite integrated tool that assists students in writing papers, gathering information for notes, and collecting their source citations.
A Chrome app, BeeLine Reader can be toggled on for most webpages, enabling the Dyslexia font and other features to increase reading efficacy.
From recording a quick video to capturing video content from their desktop, Screencastify is an amazing tool for students to create videos and collect content online.
